Our Teachers

Our teachers love what they do. They are all passionate about music and take great joy in working with children.

They create a fun, informal, and nurturing social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's development, be it musical or artistic. They create an atmosphere where the parents and caregivers enthusiastically sing and dance with joyous abandon! A vibrant sharing between teacher, parent, caregiver and child. Our teachers' unique talents and gifts bring joy to the musical experience, delighting the curious minds of children.

Hillary Wyler

Hillary is the Director of Kid's Classes of the Hamptons. In the summer of 1992, she began teaching her first Music Together® classes and continued to teach for 8 more years. After a hiatus of a few years, Hillary was delighted to be teaching again this past summer. Hillary was the Drama teacher at Hampton Day School for 10 years. To keep alive those theatre cravings, she occasionally teaches and directs for the Young Playwrights Program at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor. She is a Ceramic Artist as well, working at The Clay Potato studio in Bridgehampton and is a member of the Clay Art Guild and the Celadon Gallery in Watermill, where she shows her work several times a year.

Laura Engel

Laura Engel is a professional actress and performing arts educator who received her training at Bard College, The New School and NYU. She has performed on stage and television since the age of 14. She is a Registered Music Together Teacher, teaching in East Hampton with Kid's Classes of the Hamptons. Laura is also Co-founder of Art House Engel Studios in Sag Harbor, and is currently the Music Teacher for the Rainbow Pre-School of Sag Harbor. She continues to conduct classes and workshops for CMEE, Ross Lower School and The Art Farm in Bridgehampton. Laura resides with her husband, Christopher, and her two children, Noah and Emma, in Sag Harbor.

Abigail Levin

Abigail is a registered Music Together teacher. She completed her training this Spring and is full of new energy for teaching. She was born and raised in Manhattan and has been coming out to the East End with her family since she was a little girl. Her love of the arts and working with children runs deep. She plays the guitar and the drums as well as paints and draws. She went to and worked at performing and creative arts sleep away camps for nine summers of her life where she was exposed to an incredible wealth of creative people and opportunities. Since moving out to the East End full-time, about five years ago, she has been a counselor at the Art Farm and has also given her own art class to 3 and 4 year olds, called Art With Abby, at the Goat on a Boat Puppet Theater in Sag Harbor. After taking a few years hiatus from school, she is now back and studying early childhood development with the University Without Walls, a self-directed program which is affiliated with Skidmore College, where she did her freshman year. She is very excited to be a part of the Music Together family.

Sigrid Benedetti

Sigrid Benedetti is not assisting this semester, except as a substitute. The daughter of a veteran cellist of the New York Philharmonic, she grew up surrounded by music. As a youth she attended the symphony, chamber music and opera performances on a regular basis. In adolescence she participated in musical theater and studied piano and dance. A highlight of her early life was performing on stage as a member of the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus. In this new endeavor as a Music Together teacher, she will be returning to her musical roots, combining her old love of music with her new love of parenting. Before having her son, Luke, in January of 2006, Sigrid was as a professional pastry chef who owned her own café in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. A recent transplant from New York City, she currently lives in East Hampton with her husband, a chef, and her son.
